IHS is an active leader in consumer advocacy for the hearing impaired. An example is IHS's Hearing Aid Helpline. Each year, hundreds of individuals and families are assisted by the Helpline through a variety of services, at no cost to the consumer. The Helpline provides a referral service for locating qualified hearing healthcare professionals.
Throughout its history, IHS has also sought to establish and foster ongoing dialogues with other associations, such as those representing senior citizens, in an attempt to promote greater public awareness and understanding of the benefits of hearing instrumentation.
