Also learn new resources and news from the International Hearing Society that affects the role and advancement of hearing health professionals in their knowledge, professionalism, and practice.

- Identify the national legislative and regulatory actions and initiatives underway that may affect hearing aid dispensing professionals and/or their clients/patients.

Communicating the Right Message to Patients

As the number of people living with untreated hearing loss continues to rise, hearing health care professionals have an opportunity to differentiate their practices with a message of education; a focus on services, not products; and an effective communication strategy to discuss topics that matter to the client, such as the medical treatment of hearing loss; tinnitus treatment; and the connections of hearing loss and dementia.
In this webinar, attendees will:
- Understand the four ‘hot-button’ topics that acquire the most interest and engagement from prospective leads and increase treatment rates.
- Evaluate their marketing effectiveness and understand how to increase patient engagement.

You must score 70% or better to earn 1 continuing education credit per quiz. Your certificate of completion will be mailed to your postal address within 30 days of receipt.
Continuing Education Credit: Each quiz is worth 1 continuing education credit.

- California: IHS is in the process of applying to the California Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology & Hearing Aid Dispensers Board for this virtual event.
- Delaware: If necessary, IHS will apply to the Board of SLP, Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers. If you are from Delaware, please let us know at professionaldevelopment@ihsinfo.org.
- Florida: Effective April 9, 2020, emergency rule number 64B6ER20-25 was approved by the Florida Board of Hearing Aid Specialists. Therefore, for the next 90 days, current Florida licensees and applicants for licensure are allowed to complete Board-approved continuing education courses by distance learning methods. The International Hearing Society is an approved provider of the Florida Board of Hearing Aid Specialists. You are responsible for documenting this continuing education event into CE Broker; please use reference number #20-774718.
- North Carolina: IHS is in the process of applying to the North Carolina State Hearing Aid Dealers and Fitters Board. Attendees must complete the NC online CEU Verification Report after the virtual event. Click here.
- New York: Online/web-based continuing education is prohibited in New York State for Hearing Aid Dispensers. Regretfully, IHS doesn’t have enough time to get an exception from the NY Department of State for this virtual event. Please contact HHANY for additional information.
- Ontario, Canada: IHS has applied to the Association of Hearing Instrument Practitioners of Ontario (AHIP).
- South Carolina: IHS has submitted this virtual event to the state of South Carolina DHEC. The IHS Certificate of Completion is proof of continuing education credit earned.
- Texas: TDLR has approved the April 29 IHS topics for continuing education credit. IHS qualifies as a non-manufacturer continuing education provider. The IHS Certificate of Completion will serve as proof of continuing education credit earned.
