The International Institute for Hearing Instruments Studies (IIHIS) is responsible for accrediting the Society's education programs, including distance learning, affiliate chapter meetings, manufacturer sponsored programs and the IHS annual convention and exposition. It awards certificates of continuing education credit which are often required for maintenance of licensure and are also recognized by the National Board for Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences (NBC-HIS). IIHIS provides both a written and practical examination that is utilized in the United States and Canada. It is the leading publisher of industry-related textbooks.
