Best Practices and Clinical Practice Guidelines
As in any profession, Best Practices and Clinical Guidelines for hearing healthcare morph and change over time based on new research and emerging technology. IHS keeps abreast of these changes to produce straightforward standards of clinical practice for you and your patients/clients.
Policy Statements
In response to a number of policy questions, the IHS Board of Governors has developed a comprehensive list of positions on topics that affect the profession and patients served. These statements are updated as new initiatives and governmental policies or workgroup activities are enacted or announced.
Governance & Strategic Planning
IHS maintains clear governance policies and ethical standards that guide our work and protect the integrity of the profession.
Serves as the foundational rules that govern the Society’s structure, leadership, and operations.
Defines the professional standards and ethical principles expected of all members.
In 2025, the IHS Board of Governors and staff leadership participated in a facilitated strategic planning session, which resulted in the finalizing and adoption of its 2026-2028 Strategic Plan. The Plan sets forth the forward-looking roadmap designed to guide our organization and the profession toward meaningful growth and impact with service- and community-focuses interwoven throughout.
The Strategic Goal Areas – Advocacy, Education, Engagement, and Membership – affirm our commitment to the members we serve, as well as future hearing healthcare professionals, and the patients they serve. We are excited to carry out the objectives to propel these goals forward, and encourage members to stay tuned for new programming and project roll outs, as well as experiences and enhancements that support the Plan.
