Distance Learning Course vs. ILE
Test Prep
The Distance Learning for Professionals in Hearing Health Sciences Course and ILE Test Prep are both used for aspiring Hearing Aid Specialists ahead of licensing, but they serve different purposes.
The Distance Learning Course provides foundational knowledge. The course is built to complement practical, hands-on training and prepare students for independent practice.
ILE Test Prep is an exam preparation and review tool, and is not a substitute for the course and training. This online study platform by itself cannot prepare someone for licensed practice.

There are two pathways to become a Hearing Aid Specialist – academic training and workplace training. Both pathways can provide the requisite knowledge and skills needed to be successful. The following is an overview of the workplace training approach.
