In order to be awarded the AHAP designation and certificate, you must complete all required activities and assessments associated with the 12 modules of the program. There are 11 universal modules that everyone must take. Learners have a choice between two electives for the 12th module, or can pay extra to take both electives. Each elective in module 12 earns you a separate certificate and badge in addition to your overall program badge.

  • How do I become eligible to enroll in the AHAP program?

You must be a fully licensed, registered, or certified hearing aid professional. Your license must be in good standing in your jurisdiction and remain active throughout your enrollment in the program. Licensure will be verified by the IHS team. While not required, it is recommended that you have two or more years of clinical experience prior to enrolling.

  • If I already have the ACA designation, can and should I also enroll in the AHAP program?

Yes, it’s always a great plan to advance to the next level to provide your patients and clients exceptional care! The American Conference of Audioprosthology (ACA) was a former program that provided exceptional education, but is no longer available. The AHAP program offers more modern specialized mastery. ACA holders are eligible to enroll in an expedited AHAP program track, recognizing their coursework from the legacy program.

  • Is the AHAP program on-demand?

The AHAP program is structured with two (2) terms and a hands-on workshop. The two terms are virtual and self-paced, allowing participants to complete the coursework for each module on their schedule. The hands-on workshop is the only in-person component where learners participate in hands-on instruction to fully master the skills, such as ear impressions and probe microphone measures.
