Zach Pfister is a senior leader in Brownstein’s Government Relations practice with more than 20 years of experience in government, politics and advocacy. A trusted advisor with deep congressional expertise and strong relationships across the House Democratic Caucus, he helps clients turn complex policy goals into effective legislative strategies. As co-chair of the firm’s financial services practice, Zach advises clients in banking, payments, housing, agricultural finance and other key sectors. Known for his bipartisan approach and political insight, he specializes in coalition building, stakeholder engagement and navigating complex policy issues. His advocacy spans industries including financial services, pharmaceuticals, veterans’ health, agribusiness and emerging technology. Zach is particularly skilled at building relationships with Democratic leadership, committee members and influential caucus groups, helping clients effectively engage policymakers.
Before joining Brownstein, Zach served in senior congressional and political roles, including as legislative director to Rep. Larry Kissell (D-NC), and later as the senior House Democratic lobbyist for the Credit Union National Association.
