The International Institute of Hearing Instrument Studies (IIHIS) Committee oversees the Society’s educational activities and programs. The committee advises on matters directly concerning the Society’s instructional programs and its assessments.
Committee members:
- Provide the Society’s education and continuing education course approval programs by lending subject matter expertise
- Evaluate knowledge and performance levels for educational programs and assessments
- Set priorities, including participating in ongoing planning activities for educational programs, quality measures, and continuous improvement
- Offer recommendations for all educational programs and assessments to the Board of Governors
Qualifications for Committee Members
- Membership: Must be an IHS professional member in good standing.
- Experience Requirements: Must have 5+ years of experience dispensing hearing aids.
- Current Experience: It is preferred that members currently dispense hearing aids, but not required.
- Former IHS Volunteer: Preference for candidates with previous IHS volunteer experience.
- Time Commitment:
- Attend two in-person meetings. Dates and locations are announced each year.
- Meet virtually as needed – typically 1-2 times per year.
- Dedicate time independently as needed.
