On March 4, 2026, IHS met with Members of Congress and their staff to discuss important issues facing Hearing Aid Specialists at the federal level.
Beginning with a breakfast with Rep. Scholten (D-MI), six members of IHS – President Michael K. Andreozzi, BS, BC-HIS, Board Member Karin S. Schmidt, BC-HIS, John “Clell” Hamm, BA, BC-HIS, Ryan Lash, AHAP, BC-HIS, Nicholas Gray, BC-HIS, and Mattew J. Jones, BC-HIS – participated in 17 meetings throughout the entire day on the Hill.
The IHS Advocates spoke on the ability of Hearing Aid Specialists to serve veterans through the VA Community Care Program (via IHS-supported HR 3088), the upcoming 75th anniversary celebration, a way for increased input to Congress from small business owners (via IHS-supported HR 6855), and bringing to the attention of decision makers the issues with packaging following the implementation of Reese’s Law.
The entire day was a success as IHS continues to grow its presence in the Capitol and get results for its members.
