On Thursday, April 23, 2026, U.S. Representative Hillary Scholten (D-MI), joined by Reps. Tom Barrett (R-MI), Kristen McDonald Rivet (D-MI), Debbie Dingell (D-MI), and Haley Stevens (D-MI), introduced a bipartisan resolution recognizing the 75th anniversary of the Michigan-based International Hearing Society (IHS).

The resolution recognizes the significant contributions of the only organization to support the profession of Hearing Aid Specialists at the national and international levels in assisting new entrants to the field, providing continuing education, advancing relationships with other hearing healthcare organizations, and advocating for the profession and the patients whom Hearing Aid Specialists serve.

“This resolution highlights the important work IHS has done for 75 years to cultivate and protect the profession of Hearing Aid Specialist. Studies show that the need for hearing healthcare professionals is only going to increase with time – and IHS stands ready to ensure that patients receive the best possible care from highly qualified Hearing Aid Specialists – as we have for three quarters of a century,” said Alissa Parady, CAE, Executive Director.

“It has been a great honor to serve as President of the International Hearing Society during these 75th anniversary celebrations. I am excited to see how the organization continues to grow in the coming years and how IHS’ ongoing work brings new opportunities for our membership now and in the future,” stated IHS President Michael Andreozzi, BS, BC-HIS.
