All education is not created equal. Make sure your continuing education is IHS-approved to know that you’re doing the most for your career and your patients. The benefits of IHS course approval:

  • Recognition by most states and provinces for license renewal requirements
  • Recognition by the National Board for Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences (NBC-HIS) for recertification requirements

  • Is captioning available for Live Webinars and On-Demand Webinars?

    Yes, captioning is made available on all IHS Webinars, including our live events.

     

  • I’m not available for the upcoming Live Webinar. Will it be recorded?

    Yes, all Live Webinars (unless otherwise stated) are recorded for On-Demand viewing following the live event. If you register for the Live Webinar, you will be notified via email when the recording is available – typically within a week of the webinar.

     

  • How do I earn Continuing Education from an IHS Webinar?

    IHS Webinars and their accompanying CE Credit are free to IHS Professional Members. Proof of CE Credit is available for immediate download after passing the online quiz and completing the course evaluation. To earn the credit, you must watch the webinar and pass the quiz. If you don’t pass the quiz, you can re-take it. The quiz is available in the e-Learning Portal following each webinar.

     

     

  • Is there a difference between “Credits” and “Units” in measuring Continuing Education?

    Yes, while they are both used to describe the calculation of continuing education hours, there is a very important distinction between the two. A Continuing Education Credit (CE Credit) equals one hour of education and is the standard unit for Hearing Aid Specialists. As an example, a 3-hour course offering CE Credits would award 3 CE Credits. A Continuing Education Unit (CEU) equals ten hours of education, so if a 3-hour course offered CEUs, then it would award 0.3 CEUs, and is the standard unit for Audiologists.
